FSC logo

FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. Established in 1993 as a response to concerns over global deforestation, FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide. FSC provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services to companies, organizations, and communities interested in responsible forestry. Worcester Envelope Company has been a certified supplier of FSC products since 2008. SW-COC-003191

Rainforest Alliance logo

Are you looking for an opportunity to communicate that commitment to consumers? If so, consider using the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal in tandem with the FSC trademarks on your certified envelope products and in promotional material. The little green frog seal is recognized by consumers around the globe as an icon of social, environmental and economic sustainability. It inspires consumer confidence, letting shoppers know that a product promotes healthy forests and the long-term success of farm and forestry operations.

Renewable Choice logo

Renewable energy facilities generate renewable energy credits (RECs) when they produce electricity. Purchasing these credits is the widely accepted way to reduce the environmental footprint of your electricity consumption and help fund renewable energy development. Purchasing RECs at the same quantity as your electricity consumption guarantees that the energy you use is added to the power grid from a renewable energy facility and supports the further development of these facilities. Worcester Envelope Company has offset 100% of our energy use with the purchase of renewable energy credits.

Please Recycle logo

The “Please Recycle” campaign is sponsored by the Envelope Manufacturers Association (EMA) in conjunction with the Direct Marketing Association and the Magazine Publishers Association. These organizations recently received the endorsement by the Environmental Protection Agency to include these recycling messages on their products. The paper industry has committed to an overall goal of recovering 55 percent of the total paper we produce and the Envelope Manufacturers Association joins in that goal. Our “Please Recycle” initiative is aimed at encouraging our customers to assist us in recovering more used mail for recycling through existing municipal waste streams and in recovering our packaging materials through similar waste collection systems. Worcester Envelope Company is a proud member of the Envelope Manufacturers Association.

Sony logo

Sony designates suppliers that cooperate in the production of environmentally sensitive products as Green Partners. Sony established the “Sony Green Partner Standards” in 2001 with the aim of encouraging suppliers to introduce Green Partner environmental management systems. In 2002, Sony established a set of “Management regulations for environment-related substances to be controlled which are included in parts and materials.” Environment-related substances to be immediately banned or reduced were identified, as well as their applications. To make sure that suppliers observe these regulations, the “Green Partner Environmental Quality Approval Program” was prepared.
